Prenatal Support
-
Free Video or Phone Consultation This is an informal, no-pressure meeting where we get to know each other. You can ask questions about what a doula does, my approach, and how I can support you during pregnancy and birth. It’s also a chance for me to learn about your hopes, concerns, and values around birth. The goal is to see if we’re a good fit because comfort and trust are essential for this journey.
-
Prenatal Visits These sessions are typically 60–90 minutes each and happen in your home or virtually, depending on your preference. They’re tailored to your unique needs and include:
-
Personalized Birth Plan Assistance We’ll talk through your birth preferences—things like your ideal environment, pain relief options, interventions, and postpartum wishes. I’ll help you craft a written birth plan that clearly communicates your goals while also remaining flexible for the unexpected.
-
Education on Labor Stages, Comfort Measures, and What to Expect I’ll walk you through what happens during each stage of labor, signs to look for, when to go to your birth location, and how to navigate common scenarios. We’ll practice comfort techniques like breathing, massage, positions, and relaxation strategies so you and your partner feel confident and prepared.
-
Emotional, Mental, and Physical Preparation for Birth We’ll explore your fears, expectations, and hopes for birth and parenthood. I’ll share tools to help you mentally prepare, cope with uncertainty, and build emotional resilience. We’ll also talk about physical wellness and how you can support your body leading up to labor. My goal is to be someone to hold space for you; meaning that I am here to listen and be a person that you can unfold to. To hold space is to never burden someone, but to create a space of peace, and honesty.
-
24/7 Text and Phone Support (Near Due Date) Starting around 38 weeks, I’ll be on call for you 24/7—ready to answer questions, help you decide when to head to your birth location, or offer reassurance if anything unexpected arises. You can reach out day or night for guidance or emotional support.
-
One Postpartum Visit After birth, I’ll check in with you—typically within the first week or two—to offer support as you recover and adjust to life with your newborn. We’ll talk about your birth experience, answer questions, support feeding (breast/bottle), and provide newborn care tips. I’ll also be there to check on your emotional well-being and connect you with additional resources if needed.
